Barbie is trying to teach me how to blog so I can join the melee! Great Christmas. Nativity: I'd been looking for a good scroll saw for months & months and finally found what I wanted in Craigslist (pictures to follow). I can truly say that the saw makes all the difference. Fatherly advice: always buy the best you can afford; you'll have more time to play if you do. Anyway, the saw is a great stress reducer. The Nativity was a learning experience & enjoyable (will probably be one of a kind).
Added the picture for experience, but also goes with the fact that Mom bought me a motorcycle for my birthday. It's a blast. Unfortunately, I've laid it down a couple of times now - with age, comes pain; mind says "Hit the brakes, turn fast, go over the jump, hit the brakes, & turn", but the body says "WHAT??!!" I continue to heal. Lost flesh the first time & dislocated a hip the second time.
I love this time of year! It certainly reminds us what life is all about. I have a firm testimony of the Plan of Salvation and the claim (good or bad depending on our actions) that it has on us. I love the Prophets and their families. I continue to feast in the Scriptures and testify of their truth. I encourage you to LOVE & ENJOY LIFE! Spend less time worrying and more time sharing. It's not about things - it's ALL about relationships. I love you all and am proud (the good kind of proud) of all of the good that you do. DAD.

Oregon Mecham Christmas 2010

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!!!!! We had a wonderful Christmas this year, of course they are always superb in the Mecham household!! It was a little different this year first year for Kim and I to not be either with a large Mecham or Holliday gathering. So it was pretty laid back and relaxed. We did stockings around 7 am, sorry Stef no need for early rising here. Then cruised to the Burke's and had a great breakfast extravaganza. Hung out and chatted with the Burkes and the Elders. Aslynn opened her books from Kim and I and Bre opened her gifts from me. It was anice relaxed morning. We went home and spent the afternoon opening our gifts from each other, and in no particular order:

Kim was a little weirded out cuz I hooked her up with a holiday scratcher in her stocking.

This is my loves fake smile, notice the ever present cell phone.

Anne of Green Gables trilogy, definitely scoring a spot net to all those other precious movies!

My wife loves me and way over did it, I will not get into the debate of whether or not I deserved any of my awesome presents, because I am pretty sure we all know where that would end up. (I would hate to have to return items!)
Hope everyone had a great Christmas, and enjoyed the time the had with family and friends. Life is good, there is no complaints coming from this Mecham Household. Kim is enjoying YW and I have been released from Elders again and called to the trenches of Primary!!!! Let the battle begin!!!!!!
For those of you in doubt, let me reiterate a few TRUTHS:
The Church is true! President Monson is the living Prophet that leads the Church! Joseph Smith was the first Prophet in these Latter Days, (not just cuz he has a sweet first name), he translated the Book of Mormon and restored the Church with the aid of the Spirit of God!
We are a blessed generation, choosen to walk the earth in these turbulant times, to prepare the earth for the second coming of our Savior. Scary? A little. Exciting? ALOT!!!
It's a new year, if you are not holding to the Iron Rod, reorganize your lives, set some goals, and look forward to an Eternity with Kim and I, oh yeah does it get any better!!!!!
Love,
J/K Mecham

Halloween 2010 Mecham-Holliday

Well we really did nothing for Halloween but we did go to the pumplin patch/corn maze before Halloween, so blogging about it, cuz; well... I am a Mecham Blogging Machine (today).

Kim at the patch, it was all fun and games til it started raining, we did not actually buy a pumpkin this year but the visiting was nice, maybe next year!!

Yep I am styling enjoying the pumpkins, and really wishing we could leave cuz of rain.

The corn maze was dino themed pretty cool, I was not knocked over by the awesomeness but it was neat, the corn was well passed dead so it lost some of its coolness, and it wasn't pitch black out side so the scare factor was below 0. Good Fun though!!!

Cute picture in the corn maze!

Me being goofy and one of Kim's rare moments of feeding my childish side, wink!!!

Piece de la resistance!!!!
Yeah that is a CANNON!!!! Homemade with tractor spare parts and a 100 gallon propane tank. I have always wondered the purpose of those baby pumpkins at the supermarket, I mean not large enough to carve but too big to just have around as festive decor. WELL HELLO, the boys from the back hills showed me the light!!!! Make shift cannon balls, slightly rounded, orange missiles that explode on contact, YEAH, pretty much AWESOME!!!! As topping to this delicious man child cake of fun, you even get to snap the stem off, gives you the feeling of arming a grenade, SWEET!!!!
Dad you can visit anytime and we can work on a new "family toy", did I mention Kim has a shop, with a simple wood nativity she might let you and I borrow some building area?!?!?!?!?! Think about it, just don't say no, wink!!! the chair i am sitting in is attached to the cannon and is controlled by a sweet aircraft joystick. You can turn a complete circle (not advised with a crowd) and pivot up and down. They had and rv, bus and car out in a field you could shoot at. Did I mention it was AWESOME!!! I attached a video but it does not do it justice, plus the blog site flips my photos automatically but not my videos and it turned the video grainy. But it will give you a taste of the goodness!!!! ENJOY!!
