Deer Season 2010

Deer Season 2010 was good, surprisingly we actually saw living animals, even more surprisingly they were the animals we were actually looking for, SWEET!!!! It was good fun, Kim was ablt to get a nice Non-Typical which if you check the horns you will understand the name. I admit I scored the smallest catch of the day but heck in the hunting world something is much better than nothing!!!

Kim's Non-typical, her buck had some mismatched horns that were partially still in velvet. Very nice, some thought we should have it mounted but that is TONS of money!

My not so stupendous 3 point buck, he is a little dusty cause we had to drag him down a hill. The cute addition is Kara Hanson, was missing Aslynn something fierce but Kara is doing a great job of being a super cute niece!!

Conference Weekend Madness!!!

Okay, so really I just like to blog. I will admit it right now. I live my life thinking oh that would be a great blog post, but I am too chicken to actually post it because in all reality it is not all that exciting, but I thought that this would be exciting-mainly because it has nothing to do with me...

So Conference was pretty great. It was not as quiet as it has been for me the past couple years, but that is a good thing because I didn't fall asleep once. So we decorated for Halloween between sessions. It was a lot of fun. Although Aslynn was scared out of her mind and she would run from the decorations yelling "Say me, Say me!" (Roughly translated is save me save me). She became great friends with Grandma, although Grandma did teach her some important life lessons; we were eating dinner (Clam Chowder home made by Bre which was delicious!!!) and Z was sitting close to Grandma. There is a goblin in the dining room and Z was getting kinda scared of it. Right in the middle of dinner Grandma starts singing "If you don't walk as most people do some people walk away from you, but I won't, I won't. If you don't talk as most people do some people talk and laugh at you, but I won't I won't..." She then said to Z, "Yeah that guy is super ugly, but we still need to be friends with him..." You can imagine the conversation that this life lesson set off around the dinner table. We were laughing for ever!! It was hilarious. So the main lesson we learned today...ugly people need friends too!! It seemed to work though...Z wasn't scared of the goblin anymore and actually wanted to give it a kiss when she left. It was a great weekend!
Z pointing to her new friend...

What her new friend looks like...

Awesome Clam Chowder in an awesome bread bowl

"The" Tree

Dad was working all weekend, like always. He is fixing the cupbaord cuz it came off the wall.

Watching conference. Z can almost say prophet.

Holding her baby. She would rock it and kiss it and love it.

Doug painting some of his figurines during conference (the ghost is Bre's)

Stefanie, avidly listening and taking GREAT notes!

Z going under the bridge...

She really loves playing with the light switches. Another thing she loves to do it to scream randomly. Stef thinks that she may have that disease where you just do random things randomly (I would spell it, but I can't)

Mom getting everything beautiful...

Dad's favorite (other than "The" tree) Z was afraid to come into the house because this was up.

Hiding

Aslynn loves to play in the pantry.  It's probably her favorite spot in the whole house.  When everyone comes over, she makes sure they hide with her.  This is how I found them all a few weeks ago.  We've got a pretty big pantry! ;o)

J/K Spokane Trip 2010

Kim and I went to Spokane for a friend's wedding this past weekend. So after the wedding we had plans to hit Idaho and Silverwood (Amusement Park). As you can tell it was wet, and once we got there it was REALLY wet. Needless to say it was a nice drive, but there was no getting out, (though we did find time to hit a Wal-Mart down the road, go figure.)

So on our way home we were trying to come up with something to not make the trip too much of a waste, (wedding aside). So there was a new Cabela's in Post Falls, ID so we stopped in. After doing a little Christmas shopping and eating our fill of cinnamon sugar Pecans and Cashews we left. Of course from the pics. you can tell a Cabela's is soo much more than a hunting/outdoors store. They had arcade hunting games all over, a diner you could order all kinds of animals from, and a ton of stuffed animals. They had an African exhibit, a ton of fish and a mountain built right in the middle of the store with a waterfall and pond (filled with real fish of course). So Kim enjoyed going around and snapping pics of all the animals, I just posted a couple pics, cause there were ALOT more.

Musk Ox

Grizzly Bears fighting over dinner (or a Caribou if you will).

Killer African display, had a Rhino and all kinds of goat type animals. Of course the Lion was sitting over it's kill (Zebra).

Were not able to do a session, oddly the temple is closed Sunday and Monday my days off, but hey we made the time to stop by and check it out!

Spokane has a huge garden place, with trails for walking yadda yadda, place to visit and take pictures, it was pretty cool. Of course we did learn here it would be good to have friends that could take pictures of us, instead of finding ingenious ways to take pictures on our own. They had huge bushes made into arches (above) you walked through 3 or 4 of them to get in to the garden, pretty neat.

From a Gazebo, can't see out into the garden area but use your imagination, it was cool!!

This is the opposite end of the garden, to the far back is the gazebo! This it what you are suppose to be imagining in the previous picture, TA DA!!!!!

On the way home we got a chance to see some big horn sheep off to the side of the road, and yes they are real. Of course I was torn between, admiring the awesomeNESS of seeing them in the wild and the desire to bring one down with a well placed rock!! (Hey, I live in Oregon it's what we do here!!!)

There were about 20 in the bunch we saw, only about 40-50 yards away from the highway, totally not scared, I even honked our horn to test 'em. Good info to know cause if I every do draw a Big Horn Sheep tag (once in a lifetime) I know where I am going!!!!
And just in case any one has NOT heard yet, kim and I put an offer in on a house, nothing more to report just yet. Just so no one can say they hadn't heard yet!!! Read the blog that's all I can say, more to report LATER!!!!

We went to Spokane this past weekend, for Kim's fried Joelle's wedding (Kim's maid of honor). We had a good time more on the trip to follow. Just thought the had a few good ideas I thought I would share with my sisters who I am sure are working dilligently on bettering themselves in life (and possibly looking for some guy to rule!)

Brad and Joelle's colors wre purple and LIME green. Their center pieces were cool, of course they had to hand cut a crap load of limes, but the end result looked good!

Lastly the put personal "kisses" at each guest's seat, which were delicious, but when you flipped them over each one had a sticker that had their picture and said, "KISSES from the NEW Mr. and Mrs.". I thought it was cute!!!

PEARS!!

PEACHES!!

Kim will be starting to work in John Day twice a month this next week. A blessing in that she has a job but other than that no blessing at all, she is not looking forward to the drive or the trouble I will probably get in while she is away. (Honestly the trouble is only to show how much I miss her, and need her around!!!) Two weeks ago she went to John Day to have a practice run, and to refresh her memory how much she "loves" the drive. While there she canned peaches and pears, which she informed me is not really worth the work, but loved the time spent with her mother. (They did a ton, not literally, but it was ALOT!) She also went to her Grandma H's to learn a new loop design thingy for doing the outside of baby blankets, she is enjoying it, plus it gives her something to do when we go on trips.

So there was this guy...

I went to institute last week and saw this super good looking guy. I told Stef that I would post a picture so here it is...

So this is him, well this is basically what he looks like except he has blue eyes and more of a Marine haircut. I think I may have found my one and only!!
